My summers end with a Sh'BANG! That's when I run the Off-Road Daredevil Downhill Soapbox Derby at the Lookout Arts Quarry near Bellingham, Wa. The buck stops with me on this show since 2023 and I'm just gonna keep adding more clowns and probably more fire. (We max out on cars, so register if you want to be in!) The derby kicked off Sh'Bang! A Festival of Ideas back in the day - and the drivers are the wild heartbeat of the whole thing risking life and limb for nothin' but gold garbage and their own mythology.

The LAQ is an abandoned gravel quarry that's been filled in to create an artificial lake. It's now a special artist's community in the area I live. Their big annual event, Sh'Bang!, is the most inclusive arts festival in the PNW. (Sorry Burners, I've moved on.) Puppets! Death Clowns! Arte Metal in a haunted thicket! Naked people! SO MUCH CIRCUS! SO MUCH STRINGS! WILL THERE BE SYNTHESIZERS!?!? WE DON'T KNOW! SOMEONE WILL SWALLOW AT LEAST ONE SWORD!!! I LOVE THE Sh'DERBY!!!
