About me.

Serial connector, worldbuilder, sooth-spelunker, wordsayer, earth saver, shapeshifter, form molder, big dreamer, trimtab, temporary art.

I am a worldbuilder. A cultural antagonist and servant of planetary solutions, I am a futurist at my core. I grew up on the Pacific cliffs and in rivers running through Redwoods. My folks taught me radical service and imagination, raising me on Star Trek and the Bible. I came of age in a record shop, lugging sound systems into moonlit spaces on weekend nights, dancing in colored lights beneath a star cathedral. While I’ve been a writer since childhood, I have a professional background in service excellence, leadership, creative industries, management and organizational development (particularly in entrepreneurial environments), website and warehouse operations, integrated communications, data management, UX, strategic visioning, and branding. As my life unfolded, I came into contact with a driving need for more altruistic impact in my daily contributions. This led me to academics where I quickly developed an appetite spanning across disciplines, driven by a desire to understand human behavior, meaning, cultural transformation, and what a truly “healthy future” would look like. Locating tools to sustain a shift from old ways of being to the “what’s next” were paramount to my path. The custom degree program at Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Washington University is a powerful educational tool. There, I trained in critical theory, developed myself as a cultural theorist and futurist, distinguished myself as an innovative qualitative researcher and interdisciplinary scientist working in Human Computer Interaction, and created and taught a 300-level university course titled Economics and Ecology: Emergent Approaches to Holistic Resource Management. My academic training spans critical studies, community psychology, somatic therapies, ethnobotany, identity development and ontology, business and marketing innovation, sustainability and ESG, economic theory, UX design, technology implementation, organizational development, a variety of design and systems methodologies, qualitative research, and fine arts - all supported by my ongoing development and diversification as a writer, poet, and theorist. I graduated from Fairhaven in 2020 with a degree in Narrative Psychology and Whole Systems Thinking. I continue to build in my technology design research, liberatory approaches, ecological economics, education, and art production. I’ve also been producing counterculture events of various sizes for over two decades. Using my extremely diverse experience and skill background, Winged Élan Collaboratory provides bespoke consulting to individuals, teams, organizations, and communities. It is my way of scaling impact by targeting system intervention points in a collaborative way across industry and domains. I believe we are meant for this moment - it belongs to us and we to it. With you, I'm excited to build a world where we will all be well!

I believe in elegant design.   I like flow states and intellectual rabbit holes.   I understand that life moves toward life, and trust that what I reach for reaches for me.   I experience the world as an interconnected and dynamic whole, responsive and in flux.   I think hope is a collaboratively manufactured thing, and that the stories we dare to imagine are the germ of futures we grow.   I recognize that unsustainable systems collapse, and that it's time to anticipate and create.   When so much is changing, great possibility arises.   Rooted by long cultures embedding us into ecologies and kin, our deep histories carry humanity to a precipice where we know enough to see and respond.   I work to hone our intentions, to develop our skill, to see the future through understanding of the past, to harness this chaotic moment with innovation and impact that works with the way life moves - toward life, affirming.
