About Jessica Kristine Navedo
A cultural antagonist and servant of planetary solutions, I focus on strategic-level management. Vision-driven and excited by the possibilities problems present, I enjoying high-intensity deadline-driven work developing meaningful projects with interdisciplinary teams. I approach emergent patterns in nuanced data with big-picture systems thinking, steering diverse teams toward innovative goals by creating consensus, inspiration, and ownership through interpersonal relationship development and project management expertise.
My time in academia is soon culminating with the completion of my interdisciplinary degree concentrating on Narrative Psychology and Whole Systems Thinking from Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Western Washington University in beautiful Bellingham, Wa. Fairhaven’s program is a powerful educational tool where I have trained in critical theory, developed myself as a cultural theorist and futurist, distinguished myself as an innovative qualitative researcher and interdisciplinary scientist working in Human Computer Interaction, and created and taught a 300-level university course titled Economics and Ecology: Emergent Approaches to Holistic Resource Management.
As I’ve worked toward earning this degree, I’ve also co-produced several small- to mid-sized events in a variety of capacities, installed immersive creative exhibits, and developed branding and product lines through collaboration with emergent entrepreneurs.
I have over 20 years of exceptional service experience in retail prior to entering school as an older student. While I enjoyed the fashion, entertainment, and expressive arts and crafts industries I’ve often worked in, I left the conventional workforce seeking a higher impact and more meaningful way to use my complex talents and interests. Prior to school, I was a key leader in FusionBeads.com’s transition from small- to mid-sized company, overseeing the development of their brand voice and personality as I managed their acclaimed customer support team, coordinated with Warehouse Operations to improve inventory and fulfillment demands, collaborated with the Director of Operations and developers to perfect UX, supported the Creative and Marketing Departments in campaigns and by supervising all social media presence, and wrote the technical manual for the use of the website backend – a large document still in use by them today.
